Your recordings
stay with you.
This policy explains how Say & Save handles recordings, transcripts, and support requests.
Recording and storage
The app uses your microphone when you choose Record or Add. It stores audio, recording names, timestamps, and related recording information in the app's storage on your device. An unfinished recording remains available for review, saving, or deletion. Recording does not require an app account.
Your paired devices
Saved recordings and their names are shared between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch through Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. Transfers may wait until the devices can communicate. The app keeps recording identifiers, audio checksums, and delivery information to avoid duplicates and retry transfers. These features do not send recordings to a developer-operated server.
Transcription
The iPhone app transcribes saved audio using Apple's on-device SpeechAnalyzer modules. It stores completed transcripts on the phone. It does not send your audio to a remote transcription service. Supported languages and devices vary; Apple may need to download a speech model before transcription can begin.
Copying text
The app writes a completed transcript to the system clipboard only when you tap Copy. It does not read your clipboard. Text you paste into another app is then handled under that app's practices and your device settings.
Developer access, advertising, and tracking
The current app has no developer-operated account or content server, advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, or cross-app tracking feature. The developer does not receive your recordings or transcripts through the app's recording, transcription, or paired-device transfer features. Apple's operating-system, App Store, speech-model download, and backup services have their own practices.
Retention and deletion
Recordings remain in the app until you delete them or remove the app and its data. Deleting a saved recording queues deletion on the paired device; that copy updates when it connects. The associated transcript and saved name are removed too. Small local records of deleted recording IDs, audio checksums, and delivery state remain to prevent a delayed transfer from restoring audio. If a transferred file cannot be validated or imported, the app may retain that file and its metadata in separate local recovery storage. These files are not shown in the recordings list and are not removed by deleting a library entry. Removing the app and its data removes this local recovery storage; device backups may still contain earlier copies. The developer does not receive these files automatically. The app does not erase text already pasted into other apps. Device backups may retain earlier copies according to your backup settings and provider.
Permissions and your choices
You can stop recording in the app and change microphone access in device settings. Without microphone permission, the app cannot make new recordings. Use the app's deletion controls to remove recordings from the paired library. This does not clear the separate recovery storage described above.
Support
If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any files you choose to send. Support email is handled through Google Workspace. Contact us at support@handsbuiltsoftware.com with questions about support messages or to request their deletion. Avoid sending sensitive recordings unless they are needed for your request.
Updates
Changes to the app's privacy practices will be reflected in this policy and, where applicable, the App Store privacy information.
